Dear Families,

This brief note is to share with you some faith resources for this week.

• First, we are recording the rosary so that students can continue to pray it each day as we normally would do at school each morning during Lent. The recordings can be found at johnvianney.com/rosary New recordings will be available each morning. 
• Next, there are many parishes in Spokane that are live streaming Sunday and daily Mass, including the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes on its Facebook page.
• Also, Pope Francis is encouraging Catholics around the world to participate in two prayer opportunities this week:
  • As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Holy Father is asking all Christians of the world to pray the Our Father at noon this Wednesday, March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation.
  • Pope Francis will also be leading a special prayer service at 10:00 a.m. this Friday, March 27, that will end with the Holy Father giving the Urbi et Orbi blessing. This special blessing, which is normally given only at Christmas and Easter, will be broadcast live from Rome on various Internet sites. Look for a link on the SJV Facebook page as we get closer to the event.
• Finally, Loyola Press has a wonderful online resource called the 3-Minute Retreat. These beautiful meditations are published each day online and are also available on the Apple app store and on the Google Play store.

We encourage you to use any or all of these resources with your children at home. As Pope Francis said last week when he led the world in praying the rosary, "In this unprecedented situation, in which everything seems to be crumbling, let us help each other hold fast to what really matters."

Our faith is a powerful gift that can help us get through these days by reminding us that Jesus accompanies us through all life's challenges.
